IRONMAN 70.3 Oregon takes place on Sunday, July 21, 2024, beginning at 6 a.m. in Salem’s Riverfront Park.
The IRONMAN Village will be established at Salem's Riverfront Park July 19 – 21, with the race start and finish taking place at Riverfront Park on Sunday, July 21.
Several roads around Minto-Brown Island Park, Riverfront Park, and River Rd. S impacted on race day (July 21). Signs are posted in these areas warning drivers of the traffic impacts that may occur throughout the day (approx. 6 am – 4 pm). The Peter Courtney Pedestrian Bridge connecting Riverfront Park and Minto-Brown Island Park will be closed to the public on Sunday, July 21.
The fourth annual IRONMAN 70.3 Oregon consists of a 1.2-mile swim down the Willamette River from Minto-Brown Island Park to Riverfront Park, followed by a 56-mile bike ride South on River Rd. S. towards the Ankeny Natural Wildlife Refuge, and finishes with a 13.1-mile run from Riverfront Park through Minto-Brown Island Park and back.
Supporters who’d like to cheer on the athletes at the Finish Line are welcome to gather at Salem’s Riverfront Park near the Gerry Frank Salem Rotary Amphitheatre. Athletes are expected to cross the Finish Line anywhere between 9 am – 3 pm, with the majority of athletes finishing between 11 am – 1 pm.
Travel Salem and its partners in tourism, including the City of Salem, Travel Oregon, the Willamette Valley Visitors Association and Sport Oregon, are proud to host IRONMAN 70.3 Oregon, which is expected to generate approximately $11 million in economic impact for the Salem region.
